Specialist High Skills Major

Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) is a specialized program where high school students focus their learning on a specific area of study. They take courses in high school that are focused on sector specific knowledge and skills.  They also must complete specific certifications programs and two cooperative  education credits that refine, extend, apply and practise their skills within an individual sector.

To learn more about these specialised programs, please select the sector which represents your business or industry.  IEC Hamilton can answer any questions that you might have, connect you with schools, and assist you in customising your level of involvement.
